The Irish Music and Dance Association and the Great Northern Irish Pipers Club present ——> Open Mic Night at the Celtic Junction!


After the great turn-out and success of the April Open Mic Fund-raising event for the GNIPC, we decided it would be great to have a non-fundraiser Open Mic Night on a semi-regular basis, as a way to provide the opportunity to local performers to show off their skills!  GNIPC has teamed up with the IMDA to make this happen.


Never played on stage before? Got a new piece you’ve worked up and Want to try out? Here’s your chance before a sympathetic crowd!  Come show your support for our wonderfully talented local celticmusicians and dancers and bring your instruments/voices/dancing shoes/what have you.


It is five bucks to get in the door. We may be selling light beverages and some snacky type stuff, but if you want anything else, you should bring your own.


Walk-ups are welcome but we highly recommend you to sign up early, contact Patrick Cole . You can also sign up with Pat McCormick.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We need a place that is available one evening a week, preferably Tuesdays, until 9:00pm. Ideally, there will be multiple rooms, space to play the bagpipes outside, and in an area where we can play until 9:00pm without disturbing others. If you know of a good place in St. Paul or Minneapolis, please let us know.

City Pages Beer Festival…downtown!

LIKE A BREWERY TOUR WITHOUT THE SILLY TOUR PART!

 

It’s about bock not Bach.  It’s the 18th annual City Pages Beer Festival,

one of the longest-running events of its kind in the Midwest, Saturday,

June 5, 2010 in downtown Minneapolis.  Open to the public, this outdoor

beer sampling event features a variety of the best domestic and imported

beers available at metro area MGM locations, live music from the

BRIAN BORU IRISH PIPE BAND,  SellOut Stereo and accordionist

Bill Koncar -  plus, great people-watching!  

 

A portion of proceeds from the tasting will benefit the St. Paul Jaycees. 

The festival takes place downtown just off First Avenue North & 10th

Street N. in Minneapolis (one block southwest of the Orpheum Theater).

This year's Educational Grant is made in honor and memory of Tim 'Fitz' Fitzgerald, himself a piper and a supporter of musicians, especially young ones.
